Wow! I'm learning a lot about myself here. Thank you for sharing the journey.
I've been really lax and lazy with myself lately. I skipped almost a whole week at the beginning of this month. I just didn't force myself. But ya know - I missed it! I felt really guilty for not posting. I'm working on my self-discipline. It's interesting that I can work for someone else for 8 hours, but when I'm working at home, it's so easy to "work" for a couple of hours, and then take a break that ends up lasting 4 or 5 hours. When I've made a commitment to someone else - it's pretty easy to keep it. But I'm not so good at keeping commitments I make to myself.
But now I'm spending lots more time on my beadwork. I've scheduled a few classes, so I'm working on samples and supply lists. In few days, I'll have them listed on the Classes page. I'm really excited to be teaching again!

7/06/03 Did you miss me? I took a vacation from posting.... I know that "Discipline is the path to freedom", and "Giving excuses is admitting failure". One of the reasons I embarked on this Daily Creation adventure is because I'm working on my self-discipline. So I won't make any lame excuses. I guess I just needed a break. I *have* been beading, though. Here's a bubble bottle - made with RAW over a Ginseng bottle. Above is a photo of it opened, so you can see the bubble wand. It works, too! At the right are pictures of the two beads I made, intending for them to go on the top - but I ended up using the big pink crystal, because the beaded beads were too "floppy", and I didn't think they would hold up to pulling the top open. I have several more false starts and experiments that I just set aside after a few rows, because they weren't working like I wanted them to. M-5 C-1 F-6 V-2 E-0 |

7/07/03 I found this bracelet pattern on the internet. It's made with a 2-needle weave popular in Japan. I modified it - I can never follow the instructions exactly! It's so pretty and delicate... I used size 14¼ 22K gold-lined seed beads and 3mm Swarovski crystals. M-6 C-1 F-4 V-2 E-1 |

7/08/03 Here are a series of Knots I learned to tie today. They are : Multiple Overhand, True Lover's, Knife Lanyard, and Double-Twist Braid. What if theses were tied with a beaded cord? Hmmm...... M-7 C-1 F-3 V-2 E-1 |

7/09/03 When I was in Kauai for the Island Bead Getaway, I noticed that a lot of the Hawaiian beaders wear these beautiful beaded leis on their wrists. Since I've been collecting flower beads for a while now, I figured I'd better make myself one.... Again, the photo just doesn't do it justice. There's a lot more purple (of course!) in it than shows here. :) I think I'll make another one with multicolored flowers, and bead a little closer to the clasp. M-4 C-2 F-4 V-2 E-0 |

7/10/03 Today I helped my sister - we made her a resume, and a gift certificate for a catered dinner for two. I don't have pictures, though... M-7 C-2 F-3 V-2 E-0 |

7/14/03 Voila! The tassel.... I strung a temporary necklace, until I decide just how I want to display it. M-5 C-3 F-4 V-0 E-0

7/15/03 Here's something really silly! Can you guess? It's a toe ring - 3 beads on clear elastic thread. :) M-6 C-3 F-5 V-2 E-0 |

7/16/03 This is an experiment... I want to make a bookmark for my mom for her Bible, so I beaded up a little crystal cross. It's not exactly what I wanted, though, so I'll try again later. M-5 C-1 F-5 V-2 E-0 |

7/20/03 Oops! Missed a few days again! <sheepish grin> I've been working on the Necklace for the Herringbone Shell above, but haven't finished it yet. Today I made another crystal bracelet (see 07/07.) I tied this one in a knot for the pic. M-5 C-1 F-3 V-0 E-1 |

7/27/03 Hey what happened? I can't believe a whole week has gone by!!!! I've had the flu, but I've been beading anyway. I have the curl's necklace close to being finished. I have tons of ideas and projects to work on. Guess I'd better work on posting more regularly! I worked for my sister yesterday, catering a wedding. I WORKED for 12 hours, I'm not used to that kind of constant physical labor. As I was unloading my car, I stepped off the edge of the sidewalk, and fell. The worst injury (other than skinned knees and a bruised ego) is my thumb. Somehow I smashed it. It's so sore, that I can barely hold my beadwork. :( Anyway, here's today's project. It's a gift for my mom - a sterling and Swarovski crystal bookmark. It's strung on waxed linen. M-6 C-1 F-2 (way too much sugar lately... leftover goodies from the wedding!) V-0 E-0 |

7/28/03 Here's a crystal ring, inspired by Chris Prussing's article in the June/July 2003 issue of Beadwork Magazine. It's a lot prettier on than it is in the pic. I used 3 mm crystals and 14° seed beads on Fireline. We'll see how it holds up! M-6 C-1 F-4 V-1 E-0 |

7/30/03 Yesterday, I helped my baby sister and her family move. Today I worked on Class Supply Lists. You can check out my Classes page for my schedule. I'm getting a notebook together with all the classes, descriptions, photos, supply lists, etc. I love being organized! I have great intentions, but I'm a little slow on the follow up. Since I have so many classes that I've taught over the years, and a lot more ideas and new classes, it may take a while. I want to update all the lists, so they all have the same format and fonts, etc. Wish me luck... Hope to see you in class! M-4 C-2 F-3 V-0 E-0 |
